A Year of Days - Day 354: Leaves... err, leaving...
...but not quite yet. These stragglers caught my eye as I walked in the forest this afternoon; they're hanging on grimly long after their compatriots have fallen to carpet the forest floor.
@taffy@dibzgreasley Thank you both for your constant support - it isn't one more day to go but eleven... here in Europe there are 365 days in each year ;-) I really don't know what I'm going to do next year, but running two projects this year (A Year of Days & my regular 365 project) has left me somewhat drained of both energy and ideas. So then, whatever I decide for next year, it will have to be something different that is doable and at the same time will move my photography on, as for a while now it's been the same old same old... I'm sure that you both know the feeling. Watch this space I guess...
Maybe they are marescent (new vocabulary word for me). One thing I like about 365 project is the way there seems to be always something else new to do, almost as though the fact to having set out to do it creates something. I noticed that with the toy group, trying to respond to the weekly prompt, thinking, I've done everything, how can I possibly come up with another idea. And then, miracle, there is was. That being said, it certainly is true that changing up WHAT I am doing is also very inspirational. I'm trying to go through 100 happy days ... and I see that my attention span is quite a bit shorter than 100 days. p.s. "doable" is a great starting premise.
@vignouse Hehe! Yep, here too...read the 5 as a 6 (that's what I get for not wearing my glasses!
I do know what you mean re time. I'm finishing up Year 3...it's been much more relaxing than Year 1, but I get too obsessed and then don't treat it as a relaxing thing - instead feeling compelled to respond and post daily. What I have done is not kept more than one project going, and not worry if skip some days here and there. I do hope you stay on.
@francoise You may be right about them being marescent but there was just this one little twig standing clear - the leaves are actually bright yellow. The oak trees in our garden are certainly that; the leaves turn brown and papery but won't fall until the new buds begin to open. That means I get to clear the leaves twice every year!
