The landing just outside our bedroom is lit from above via a Velux roof window and right below the window is a table with a begonia plant on it. The conditions obviously suit the plant as it has grown to an enormous size - think a metre across - in about a year. It currently has a number of flower spikes. Mrs S has been trying for quite a while to get me to feature the plant on 365... so this one is for her.
OCOLOY learning point for today: we know that generally a light background will require increased exposure and a dark background reduced exposure as both will otherwise render as a mid-grey. When you are intending to use the image SOOC it's sensible to do some wide range bracketing to ensure that you have a correct exposure. This was important here as the subject is tiny white flowers against a white wall and the exposure that worked best was rather different to the one I had guessed would be right.
(You can find an explanation of OCOLOY in my 1 January post and in my profile.)
So elegant and delicate, and I like the soft b&w. I finally found a moment to read your profile. Wow. I am so glad to hear that health concerns for you and Mrs S are now reasonably under control. I agree with you about commenting - hard to find a balance - in the end I decided I have to do what I can when I can. Am very interested to see how your OCOLOY progresses :)
