OCOLOY Day 98: Vases & Stuff by vignouse

OCOLOY Day 98: Vases & Stuff

A morning spent in the Parish Gardens clearing up fallen branches after the high winds of the last two weeks and an afternoon at Rennes for my 6 monthly cancer scan left little time for photography, so I snapped this whilst cooking dinner. It's part of Mrs S's collection of flower vases and knick-knacks that lives on top of the kitchen china cabinet. This is for the B&W Light & Shadow challenge: I would have loved to have been able to do a little crop... but maybe it's best as is.

The shadows stand out better on black...

This image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
Great light and focus! Interesting items to view!

oooh...really like Mrs. S's collection...i think my favorite is the little one with the bird on top...it must drive you NUTS not to be able to crop...

i love the - for want of a better term - 'knick knacks - on the shelf. The light and swirly shadows are beautiful and all add the interest of this image.

Gorgeous light and shadows and I rather like this without any crop - gives Mrs. S's eclectic collection a sense of place.

Joli noir et blanc avec le jeu d'ombre, j'aime particulièrement ce qu'il y a dans les vases ;)

I agree with Corinne. I like the the shadows and the interesting things Mrs. S puts into the vases. ( @cocobella I could read it, just double checked the translation with google)

Not surprisingly, I like this too and only a lot! These receptacles are my go to vases and enjoy regular service when the garden comes into its own.
@cocobella @randystreat @maree_sanderson The shoe trees/embauchoirs and the tulips are all made from wood and like most of the bases came from charity/goodwill shops. The little bird on the swirly vase is a robin whilst the other is a blue tit.

Ukandie said it better than I could...

A good eye can find a photo in every corner. You have a good eye.

So nice to see some of your shots tagged for the light and shadows theme. This one really portrays Mrs S' distinctive style for using her vases.
