OCOLOY Day 250: Pitcher by vignouse

OCOLOY Day 250: Pitcher

This is another in my occasional series of glass/water/window/kitchen-counter images: each one was unplanned being simply a reaction to what caught my eye at a given moment. This is also for 'Square September' which you can find more about here - http://365project.org/discuss/general/28377/square-september

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

Has a touch more drama viewed on black...

Beautiful captured light on the tiles. An everyday object captured in an unordinary way.

A 365er whose photos I always admired once wrote that she was increasingly realizing photography was "all about the light". The comment stayed with me. It's so true and this image makes her point well.

Don't know how you got such a clear picture of the glass in such low light.

Trade secret... and I've got a steady hand! I took eight and only one was soft.

Kali has a challenge this might be appropriate for.

Very pleasing on the eye and VDOB.

@pickerandagrinner @kali66 It's nice of you to say so Louis but although the subject matter is similar, the style is completely different. I'm emphasizing light and transparency whereas Morandi was about flat light and the solidity of his objects... might have to have a go at that challenge though.

Love the dramatic feel, very beautiful shot, especially the quality of water that is almost transparent

très réussi! fav

Really like the apparent simplicity of this image, it draws you in and then you notice more and more detail. I say "apparent simplicity" as I know shooting this type of object is often not simple. fav

wonderful use of your surroundings and the light passing through them...

The use of light and low pov makes this shot wonderful!

Wonderful shot. There's a real mastery of light and shadow going on here.
