OCOLOY Day 260: To each his proper place...

Strolling through the Bordeaux region town of Pauillac (all wine lovers should now have a big grin on their faces) I glanced up a side street and was captivated by three kids tearing down the middle of the street towards me at full pelt. As soon as I lifted my camera to capture the scene, they stopped, moved to the side and stood each one by a bollard as they waited for me to take my photo. It wasn't the one I wanted but I found it charming nevertheless!

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile. This is also for 'Square September' which you can find more about here - http://365project.org/discuss/general28377/square-september
I think the three children adds something special to the photo, nicely done

Excellent as always, and never mind the children, the word "Bordeaux" was enough to make me stop and look at the shot.

Such polite and considerate children! A lovely view along this attractive side street.

That's amazing and a good photo as well. I hope to visit there someday. Great capture.

Your story reminded me of a similar demonstration of French 'politesse', just after I moved here from the UK.. During a late night walk a group of teenagers came running at me full pelt. Coming from an English city, I was a bit concerned, but as they passed me, each one shouted 'Bonsoir, Monsieur'.

How nice and polite of these children here! Certainly wouldn't have happened in our country! I expect that the attractive guttering here in the middle is to take excess water!

Nice little posers, Richard. Very cooperative of them!

@maggiemae These streets slope sharply down to the River Gironde which was at my back as I took the photo, so yes - the gulley is for rainwater run off.

@laroque Doesn't stop them being hooligans but they are at least polite hooligans ;-))

DoY
The people in it make it feel like an old photo from the 20s and then the subject hauls you back.
