OCOLOY Day 331: It's against my better judgement...

...that I've decided to post this image today. It's rare that woodland images work in B&W but there's something about this one, taken in the Parish Gardens at Paimpont, that appeals to me - perhaps it will also appeal to you?

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

It really needs to be viewed on black to give of its best.
Gorgeous shot!

Lovely composition and the water leading us deep into the photo

Not many do work in B&W but this one does. I like it very much

It has a nice softness to it, am drawn into it starting with the fern ending up along the tree line. Well done.

You can feel the stillness.

Really like this, and it does work in b&w, at least to me. Can't tell you why, not going to analyze it, just enjoy it.

VML shapes, textures, shades, sweeping curves...and the ferns front left add the final flourish.

It's a great mood shot showing the bleak landscape and the coming of winter...great in b&w and great perspective.

It is lovely. I think I like the brightness of the ferns against the blackness of the water.

I like so much che the way the foliage stands out, especially on black.

I'm glad you went against your better judgement. This is quite delightful. I suppose you're right that it's hard to pull off b&w woodland shots but you've succeeded here.

Looks like snow? Beautiful scene

The fern in the front really makes it, I think. You have a good eye.
