Coming back from the maternity hospital at Ploërmel this afternoon after another session of capturing images for the project "The Story of Birth", I stopped at the the ancient village of Les Forges to take advantage of the late afternoon sun throwing interesting shadows on the vestiges of the old iron smelting works. The middle-ground shows the remains of the two Blast Furnaces to the left and the Foundry to the right; in the background are the workers' canteen and lodgings to the left and the site-manager's office in the centre.
As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
@randystreat Kathy, I'd love to show you some of the wonderful moments I've captured so far but the nature of the project means that I can't. My favourite session so far is having the privilege of photographing a caesarian birth - very moving. There will be an exhibition in April after which all the images will be hung on the walls of the maternity hospital.
