We were 20 today in a working party to gather up the fallen leaves in the 2 hectares (5 acres) of parish gardens - this small group had the honour of gathering up the final shovel full.
As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
One would imagine that the wind would take care of most of them... but in any event, I'm assuming you kept them all somewhere for garden enrichment purposes???
@francoise They have to be gathered up because they clog up the drainage ditches causing flooding and stick to the psthways making them slippery and dangerous to walk on. We gathered up 10 large tractor-trailer loads and yes, they will be used to make compost.
A wonderful, beautiful place. Can never decide which is worse - deciduous trees and their tons of leaves shed in the fall, or the conifers like pines that shed their needles pretty much all the time. Both take work - either a whole lot of work during one season or a little work the whole year round.
In any case, I really like this picture.
