Like my main PLAY album shot for today, this has no photographic merit but it does make me smile... and that's always a good thing! This is my neighbour's cat, Patapon, staring at me through the kitchen window as I was preparing lunch. It was quite a shock as, apart from his expression, he's not supposed to be there. The contraption on his collar gives him a mild shock if he gets too close to the perimeter of their garden but, unlike his sister Graphite, he's discovered that if he runs at full pelt the discomfort is only momentary so he can explore pastures new. The device is there for his own protection as they have already lost two cats to the adjacent main road.
That ornery little mutt! He's discovered how to "fool" that "contraption" on his neck. We have family and friends who have a similar thing on their dogs collars so they can't go beyond their property. Don't tell those dogs about this kitty. I had to laugh at kitty's expression. And I guess it must have been a surprise to look out and see him staring in at you. Funny!
I love this photo. We have these for our dogs and cat. Our cat tests the boundary EVERY time he goes outside so the battery last 1/3 the time it does for the dogs. Thankfully, Squintley is a Garfield double so he isn't too keen on wandering far...he just wants to know if he CAN.
I just wonder if that means that he will not return home, because that would mean getting a shock ... if so I guess he just made the device useless, since it will deter him from returning once out and away?
I have to smile at the cats tenacity! If a cat has a will to do something there is nothing that will hold him back. Having said that, I hope he keeps his adventures away from the road!
