PLAY May - Sony 16mm f/2.8: Sunlit Trees by vignouse

PLAY May - Sony 16mm f/2.8: Sunlit Trees

A new month so a change of lens - see below - and as this focal length is a classic for landscape shots, I'm starting with one of those.

This is for my PLAY project - you can read more about it in my profile - where I'll be using a different prime lens for each month of the year: for May it's the Sony 16mm f/2.8 on an APS-C sensor camera (today the Sony Nex-7) - the equivalent of a 24mm lens on a full-frame camera.

The shadow details are accentuated when viewed on black.
Beautiful scene.

Beautiful, I love the light and shade in this. 16 mm is such a great lens!

@judithdeacon I've hardly used this one - it's not got a good reputation for quality - but I'm going to use the month to decide if I want to spring a lot of wedge for the Fuji 16mm f/1.4. I'm coming to the conclusion that prime lenses are special in more ways than one☺

You've done it again, Richard... clearly the camera can't take the credit!

@yrhenwr Woods and trees are quite challenging to process in B&W if you don't want the end result to be just a muddle of similar tones... I have a lot of outtakes!

@vignouse Yes they are indeed challenging... I find them difficult to photograph and few make it to the processing stage.

very atmosphere with these textures and shadows

Super...the forest floor looks downy. Suberbly processed to create this faerie illusion.
