Thank goodness the weekend is here. It's been a pretty tough week. I did nothing but relax this morning, and then I met up with my chum in the city centre. It might not have been very bright today, but boy was it humid! Afterwards, on a whim I decided to go the the Victoria Embankment, home of bridge that crosses the River Trent.
I wish I had bought my D-SLR, as there are a number of nice things to photograph at the embankment. I'd like to come back with it at some point in the summer, with a tripod in tow too. Later this year the Riverside Festival is held here, which is Nottingham's largest outdoor festival, and is another opportunity for a photo shoot.
The Trent Bridge was opened in 1871, so it's been around a while. I think it's stood up pretty well considering, although I'm sure it's had a few licks of paint since! By the way, today's title is another pun on an old film, 'The Bridge on the River Kwai'. A great film by the great director David Lean, although my favourite film of his work has to be 'Lawrence of Arabia', which is the most gorgeously shot film I've ever seen.
I'm out tonight for a few drinks, which is what I need after the week I've had. And yes, I'll be taking my camera; I figure that if I take a few decent snaps of my mates after midnight, that's tomorrow's picture taken care of!
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.
