The vapour trail by vikdaddy

The vapour trail

Not had much time for today's picture. Another busy day today, and a nice warm day too. As I looked wistfully out the window at work I only wished that I could spend the afternoon on a shoot in the sun. I popped out into the garden briefly this evening to see if there was anything of interest, and I saw consecutive planes flying overhead against the backdrop of a clear blue sky.

The vapour trail (or contrail) from a plane's flight is from the condensed water vapour made by the exhaust of aircraft engines. You may be wondering where the aforementioned clear blue sky is; well, I used my artistic license (or cheated) by adding a layer in Photoshop.

I hope I can take a decent photo tomorrow. I'm going to the theatre in the evening, so with work and the all-important England match all in one day too I hope I can find the time to take a few decent pictures. Perhaps I can use these events as subjects - let's see how the day pans out.

So odd! I noticed this a few days ago. I thought that there were several in the sky. I love the blue sky!

Condensation trails dissipate within a few moments and do not linger in the sky for long periods of time. What you're referring to is a chemtrail.
