I picked up my new camera today! My shiny new Canon 7D and 15-85mm lens is great. I will miss using my Canon 450D, as it's such a great beginner's camera and it's what I've used to hone my technique with, but it feels great holding this tank in my hands. What else could I photograph today other than my new toy?
I took this using my 450D for possibly the last time in this project. I also took this using my 28-135mm lens, which is also going to be sold as I will use my new 15-85mm lens as my walkabout lens.
I will definitely go on a proper shoot this weekend. I want to take my new camera and lens out and get to grips with the additional features. The ergonomics of the camera differ somewhat too, so it'll be another learning curve that I'll really enjoy climbing.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

The 7d is a very nice camera. I've used one many times, and a few friends have one. I purchased the T2i...same sensor, full HD mode yadda yadda just a few less bells and whistles.
@wolfe T2i (or 550D as it's called here in the UK) is a great little camera, it's two steps up from the 450D I used. I just outgrew it, and more than anything I didn't like how small it is in comparison to how heavy and large some lenses are!
Yeah definitely, its my beginner camera. I would have sprung for the 7D but funds are low at the moment. I would have loved the magnesium body and weatherproofing but I'm saving my pennies : p
Have fun with your new toy... Know what you mean tho - since I bought the D5000 for work, I carry that around almost all the time - whilst my own D40 seems somewhat light, flimsy and lacking features... Just hope I never drop or lose the works camera as I'll have some explaining to do.....
this is a great photo, not just that its of your new toy, but i like the way you've taken it, the textures are captured well :)) can't wait to see your new stuff now :)
Awesome!! So you are going to sell your other camera? When I get a new camera I'm definitely keeping this one too. My dream is not having to change lenses on a photo shoot!
@laburgett 15-85mm and 10-22mm mainly. I sometimes use my 50mm too. The first two I mentioned are excellent, really sharp lenses that are verging on 'L' quality.
@vikdaddy Thanks for the response. I've got a 16-35 2.8L, on my wish list right now! A couple months ago I got my first L series, a 70-200 2.8 and LOVE it! I just need a wider lens that will give me the same clarity and sharpness.
