So many sights, so little time. I drove all over Yorkshire today for work, and part of the journey involved driving from Leeds to Hull. There were a number of photo opportunities, such as a few huge power stations bellowing immense plumes of smoke and a wind turbine farm. I was about to drive past Humber Bridge too, but I had to stop to take some photos otherwise I'd kick myself for missing so many opportunities.
I walked underneath the Bridge, but it's next to a nature reserve and it was very muddy. I was dressed in a suit and my shoes got filthy, and I didn't get any decent shots because of a lack of good viewpoints. Disappointed, I walked back to my car, but luckily I saw the steps to the bridge itself.
The intense sunshine provided some strong shadows and a nice view, so I almost selected my Estuary shot instead for today's photo ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/vikdaddy/5367282975/). However, I slightly prefer this shot because of the dynamic view of the North Tower, and I like the black and white treatment.
A glorious view gave me a pleasurable journey back. Normally an intense sun would be a distraction when driving, but it was just beautiful watching the sun set as I seemingly drove towards it. It was another photo opportunity, but after a long day I just wanted to get home!

Ahhh, gorgeous, My home town!! thanks for this, I love seeing the Humber Bridge, it's just stunning! Your Estuary shot was great too! What wonderful weather in the UK today!
This is a really interesting perspective. I really like it. :-)
The power station with the windfarm nearby is Drax. It's the biggest coal fired power station in the UK. I live quite close to there when I'm not at uni and there's a great view up the river from the non-motorway bridge. Also, the motorway bridge on the M62 is a really nice shape, but you can't tell from the motorway itself.
Love reading your story about how you persevere to get your shot.. I'm just the same. I can be very annoying! LOL super cool shot, love it in black n white. Dynamic!
