I came close to quitting this project tonight. I've been lacking inspiration recently, and I can't help but think that with my busy life at the moment I'm not going to have the time to do the remainder of this project justice. Suman talked me out of it though, and I do only have about a quarter remaining. With three months left, I must keep plugging away!
I attempted a couple of different types of water shots and wasn't pleased with the results, and then later on Suman was plucking her eyebrows and I saw an opportunity.
I attempted this a few times but ended up using the first shot. In post-processing I decreased the clarity to soften the image.

Great clever photo, I have to agree with Suman, and encourage you to continue. If you give up now, then you'll regret it later. Life can keep us busy, but a few clicks in 10 min. could produce a beauty. Even if you're not happy with them at least you've taken a picture for the day. Hope you stay. I enjoy your work of art.
Great shot Vik... And would be a real shame if you were to stop... I feel my iphone has suddenly given me a boost in terms of taking a snap everyday as I was getting a tadge bored over winter..
I so know how you feel! I suspect you are the type who would never be satisfied just uploading a simple quickie "snapshot" so it makes it even harder to continue sometimes. But I'm very glad to hear you're going to anyway--love your work! ...and I would be glad to see even the snappies!
Allow yourself to just "show up" for a few days. Don't get crazy, just post ANYTHING. After that, inspiration may return... Good Luck and happy Valentine's Day!
cool idea and glad you are not quitting. I feel a lack of inspiration lately because of the short days and working so much. But, out of 365 days, of course we will not be totally inspired every day. Just have fun. This pic is really awesome!!
Don't stop. Check out my calendar. It's hard to come up with something everyday! Keep on doin it. Your photos are fabulous! We are our own worse critics.
Great shot and understand where you are coming from as I am also about to start work for me the first time in 7 years. To quit would be to rob us all of your amazing creative talent. I am glad that you were talked out of quitting
Can totally relate Vik. Some of your recent shots have been of such high quality (tennis ball springs to mind) that it makes the search for perfection even harder. However, giving up on a day when inspiration doesn't flow could deny you another masterpiece tomorrow. Days are getting longer and spring is on its way. Keep on keeping on...
How was your first day on the new job? Glad you're sticking around - it is hard to keep the creative juices flowing... I've been feeling the same. I love this shot! Well done.
@petersonsheri I really don't know what you're talking about... I wasn't accusing Flamez of anything! I was recalling my experience of the same subject. I truly am baffled by this statement. Please shed some light on why you've brought this up.
@flamez Flamez, I never accused you of plagiarism, I'm not sure what's going on here. @petersonsheri has suggested I did (above). Can you explain? I was making very general points, and even said that I learnt my lesson. I'm baffled and bemused!
@vikdaddy ..... i have no idea just logged on (was upstairs putting little fella to bed lol) i THINK @petersonsheri must have thought the "spoon gate " was about me which obviously it wasnt hehe ! ... i think after me being accused yesterday and lots of people replying and obviously with what happened with the spoon and yourself way back there must be crossed wires as no you have never accused me of copying hehe :) x
@vikdaddy ~ haha yep someone said "spoongate" on the thread way back and it kinda stuck in my head .... i even did a fork version in the spoon gate honnour not long after the disscussion on it hehe ! ...... i think its just crossed wires here as you replied on the thread aimed at me yesterday the spoon thing was mentioned in the thread also , but nope spoon gate was nothing to do with me lol
@vikdaddy@flamez Totally my mistake, and I completely apologize!! I had spoongate on the brain, and when @flamez said this was the second time she had been accused of copying, my deffenses for her went up, and it took me right back to the spoon. Vikdaddy, I apologize.
@vikdaddy ~ yup im sure someone mentioned spoon gate on that discussion either today or last night , i think its been deleted now thank god lol ! i still cant quite beleive that someone accused me of copying that window shot when i clearly have the same shot taken last year posted on my fb account and on my public fb page both dating earlier than what was posted here haha ! but never mind ! im over it now (well almost lol)
