Note to self: always get ready for the next day the night before. Last week I forgot my top when I went to the gym, but at least I remembered before I walked in. Today, I went to the gym and got changed, then realised I hadn't packed my trainers. What a dunce. Reluctantly, I got changed back in to my work clothes and drove home.
So, I had more time for today's shot than I expected, and I used it to take a photo of one of the dying flowers from Suman's Valentine's bouquet.
I took it using the reverse macro technique, with the intention of processing it similarly to my last dying flower shot. I had to over-expose this in post-processing to give it these bright colours.
I must say, I'm really enjoying my new job. It's great being productive, and it's pleasant having the affirmation that I am good at my job, because I started to go stale in my previous role. It's only been a week, but it's been eventful already and I definitely know I made the right decision.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

Congrats on the new job! Seems like all my friends who have started new jobs are wavering between bored with it, and hating it! Glad you are enjoying yours.
Lovely picture...I saw you explain the reverse macro technique on your other shot....but I don't really understand it. That's OK...I like this shot! :)
lovely composition on this daisy, vik... i love that it hangs unside down... gives one a totally different feel for the daisy.... no longer just a flower....
Wow, beautiful! Great post-processing. I'm going to try out the reverse technique and see what happens...
I'm really glad you're back, and happy to hear that you're loving your new job!! It's wonderful to feel productive & confident in your work life!
