The main picture is my maternal great grandmother she had nine children. The smaller photograph is one of her daughters, my grandmother.
My granddad was in the navy and met my grandmother when he was on shore leave in Edinburgh. He transferred from the British navy to the NZ navy. My grandmother joined him there in 1927 where they married. She could not cope with the climate and she was not in the best of health so they returned to the U.K. she had 3 children in quick succession my mum being the youngest. My mother was just under 3 years old when my grandmother sadly died. Granddad went on to marry two more times and had a total of 10 children.
My grandmothers photograph is from her NZ passport.
Hopefully one day I will restore the damage on my great grandmothers photo.
Fascinating. You can use Photoshop or Pixlr ( free) to repair it. Just clone a nearby area and transfer it. If you have a problem just email your biggest image and my husband will do it for you.
What a lovely keepsake. I have been restoring old family photos in Photoshop during lockdown this year and I am making a photobook with all the photos. It has been quite a job but I am enjoying it.
