Coastal erosion by wakelys

Coastal erosion

The black lines indicate the level that the high tides have come to washing seaweed onto the shore. The regular southwesterly winds and tides are washing the land away. The mid foreground point of the shot has previously been the easiest area to walk along but now it is very muddy mixed with clay. Walking shoes and jeans get caked.
Dreadful can’t you build dykes as we do in the Netherlands to stop the erosion?
Great shot though

Love the comp. Wish we would do more to protect.

What a pity, beautifully captured but such a sad scene.

Wonderfully composed! I still find ancient sea shells digging in the garden and I'm 200 miles from the coast.

Great layers and textures

A lovely shoreline, just a pity about what it illustrates.

Looks like a painting. Great shot.

I like the waves of color. Interesting coastline. Our state's coastline is sandy.

@jacqbb Jacqueline they are letting the sea do its worst in parts of our coastline - lack of money and letting the environment and nature take controle (really lack of money!)

Sue I love your pov here showing that curve and the changes of colour.

@jacqbb as JackieR has mentioned it is down to finances and a degree of bad management.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond AYWMC and support from 365 is helping.

@randystreat @foxes37 @bill_gk @ricksnap @linnypinny @marlboromaam @ludwigsdiana @shutterbug49 thank you for all comments and support. Sadly maintaining the coastline is out of my hands. I visit this shore most days as it is less than a 5 minute walk from home.

I am sure it will get worse as the tides rise.

I walked along the waterfront this morning and glad I don't have a waterfront property. Much safer for us to be a couple of blocks back from the ocean and on higher ground and we aren't bothered by people as they walk along the beach either.

Great curved lines and composition. The power of water is so strong.

Great P.O.V. It's a pity though that they can't protect it more.

Interesting info, and nice leading lines.

Great composition and colors. A petty that money is lacking to protect the land.

Great capture

Beautiful shot. I like to see nature doing its work without being hindered by human actions.

Great composition showing all the various layers and colours
