Itchen Abbas Church

There are so many lovely little churches here in the UK. There are many interesting stories of the lives of those who have gone. The tombstone pictured here marked the grave of John Hughes. In 1825 Hughes was the last person to be hanged in England for stealing horses. The Rector, Robert Wright paid for him to be buried in Itchen Abbas churchyard

I would love to do a tour of all the beautiful little churches in the UK. I once saw a documentary on tv which was so fascinating. I love the beautiful windows with the flowers.
