Just Me

Technique #6 - Professional looking portraits. Another go at this, just used window light. And that is what it is all about - light. Gets frustrating trying to get the most out a lens & the daylight/indoor light. I only have a built in flash & I haven't figured out how to use it properly. Maybe that will be a challenge to set myself
Lovely!

The natural light looks wonderful. Some light on the eyes would make it better. They are shadowed by the brows.

This is fantastic. The natural light is working winders here. fav

Lovely portrait Wendy - I find it difficult taking shots of children cos I'm not very quick and they get bored with all the hanging around.

Beautiful shot. Love his expression and the softness of the light.

Love his expression, it is one that I am very familiar with. I can't count how many photos that I have with my 3 year old (almost 4) with this face! It is usually when he is telling me about something, a half smile, half talking.
Love it! Very nice lighting. Good luck with the challenge!

Beautiful portrait. I only have an on-camera flash, too, which I don't like to use.

Beautifully done. I am also trying to achieve the professional portrait look and came to the same conclusion - it's all about light and shadow.

I am your get pushed partner for this week. I've been looking through your album and you have some lovely shots. I particularly like your portraits of your son and the blurb with this one gave me the idea for this weeks challenge - which is to shoot a portrait using fill-in flash. Good luck and have fun.
