Kingfisher

Having not been too good recently ..... decided to get out last Wednesday and just chill in the nature reserve. Just chucked my cheap and cheerful 75-300mm lens on as it is so light so that if I did see anything I at least had a chance of a shot. (Its the cheapest of the Canon 75-300mm lenses)
So of course ...... a kingfisher decided to play!!! This is on full zoom and is heavily cropped but as the sun was bright on the water .... the crop meant that the background was white.
Bet it wouldn't have played if I had come out with my sigma lens!!!!

Hope you are all ok. I am still having great fun with my photoshop artistry course. Next time I will load up the artwork I made with one of my other shots of the kingfisher.

Three good things today:
1. 399 working days to go (if nothing messes up my plans!) another milestone passed :)
2. Jo took us both out for tea tonight so I didn't have to cook.
3. I finally have a waterlily bud forming. It will be the first one this year!
Good to see you on 365 Al, the kingfishers turquoise stripe shows up beautifully here against the white background.

I saw my first ever kingfisher fly across a wier last weekend. No chance of capturing it with my camera though. I want a pic like yours!
