Drama in the park

I went on a bus ride today to one of my favourite venues - the Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds - to see the wildlife, and to delve deeper into the possibilities offered by my new camera. This shot is perhaps a little over-processed but I quite like the dramatic effect produced entirely by the post-processing options within the camera (except for the tag!) so hats off to Panasonic and Leica for giving me a darkroom in my pocket, which will be very useful now that my desktop PC has died and the little netbook I am using now is far too slow for any serious processing.
Great composition and processing - and this was in camera processing - wow! Love how the birds are lined up.

The birds really stand out with their whiteness against the dark of the Gardens! Great, unique ruins!

Great shot and love how the white of the birds really pops from the pix. That old stone structure, is that the remains of the abbey?

A very dramatic image! Did it look like that on the camera while you were post-processing it, or could you only really tell when you saw it on the big screen?

~Thanks everybody, and in answer to Janet @janturnbull yes, easily monitored on the camera's own screen, and what's more, it is possible to save multiple edits without losing the original on the data card.

(Sorry for any typos or delays in responding; this slow netbook with its temperamental keyboard ismaking me wish to return to painting!)

I like the line-up of the birds. In-camera processing sounds very advanced! Thanks for the tips on shooting sunsets which I've been using with good effects.

Gulls go Gothik! ;-) I like the contrast of their plumage against the dark tones and the line of the fence is pleasing too.

This is a brilliant shot Arthur - how did you manage to get the gulls to line up like that? Fav Also I like the colouring in this shot

@pam1 ... Thanks Pamela. I so agree about post processing .... Clicking the shutter is only the prelude.

Thanks everybody for all your comments which are so valuable, and I am trying to keep up with responses but having to cope with connection problems and an over-sensitive runaway keyboard on this little netbook. until I can get a new PC.
