Today is Winter Solstice. The plan was to shoot the transition from night to day at Mt Victoria. Unfortunately we had torrential rain and wild wind (huge damage to the city and 28,000 houses lost power) that put everyone off the trip. I managed to have crawled up the Mt Vic and took this picture of the city in wild wind to honor the Winter Solstice.
Wow - aren't you brave. I tried to get to the beach at Owhiro. couldn't take the car. They were stopping people. I decided not to go and bother the workers. The power lines were swaying above and I didn't want to pass under them to get to the beach. Lovely colors. I like the way they look like ladders and stepping stones. That is being a documentary photographer. I feel I probably let myself down today.
@pam1 No you are not let yourself down. Be stay safe. I am so consumed that I can hardly walk after the gym. Now I am going to have a big lunch. Take care.
You are very dedicated! It's interesting how the weather has given you an unplanned abstract. The shivers are a nice effect in all. In our hemisphere it was the summer solstice today- and the sun was here to celebrate with us. I hope you enjoyed that big lunch!
