The Sky Looks So Ominous

We went out to dinner tonight even though the warning sirens kept sounding. It looked like the sky was going to open up with a torrential downpour but it never happened. Made for a beautiful sunset though.

Pretty ominous sky. What are the warning sirens for?

@gardenfolk Bad storms or tornadoes. They blow from the fire stations when the weather is really bad.

@yogiw Scary! I wouldn't want to hear those sirens! We don't get siren warnings here. Earthquakes surprise you, then its over within seconds. But, so far I haven't felt much of an earthquake in Sac...but I did when I lived in the Palisades in southern CA. It caused damage at my high school and we got 6 weeks off from school.

@gardenfolk When we had the studio in Hyde Park the fire station was our next door neighbor. They tested the sirens the first Wednesday of every month at noon. It was SO LOUD!!!
