Art In Bloom

With Ande out of town on his boys weekend to Deals Gap I went to the art museum with my friends Chimbley and Dianne. It was Art In Bloom, the exhibit featuring artistic floral interpretations of fine art by anyone who enters.

This one was my favorite in the Cincinnati Wing — a Rookwood vase from 1880. The artist was Sue Anne Vogt of the Western Hills Garden Club. I thought the arrangement represented the art perfectly — the light orange roses at the top of the hair moving to the white tulips, mums and lilies of the neck then the green roses and hydrangea of the dress.

What a fabulous exhibit of over 50 arrangements next to pieces of art. The museum does it every other year but this was the first time I've been. I love being a member and finding out about all the exhibits ahead of time.
