I don’t know what these flowers were but they sure looked like geraniums growing from the side of the hill. The second I saw them I thought of another one of my favorite islands — The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island uses 2,500 geraniums, its trademark flower, in all its flower beds combined. Red geraniums are everywhere there.
