This guy gave me such a fright this morning. He'd been a bit lethargic yesterday, which I put down to the heat. Then this morning when I looked out of the window, he was down on his side and his legs tangled in the fence. I honestly thought he was dead. We managed to pull him out and sit him up, luckily my alpaca guru was only 10 minutes away. He diagnosed anaemia (although we don't know why yet), and low blood pressure. Consequently he couldn't roll himself back up. He's since had some injections and a horse tonic, and is now back with the herd eating and drinking like nothing had happened.
Naw .. hope he carries on improving .. Sounds like you found him just in time.. perhaps he needs to eat his silver beet ... What my Mother use to tell me..
