A year ago, I was excitedly anticipating the arrival of friends from the other side of the world. (They brought the globe bauble with them). We'd never heard of Covid-19 or of lockdowns or wearing masks. A year later, and I haven't got a clue when or if I will see my English friends or relatives again. Sobering thought this Christmas
So true. The UK is in a bad way at the moment isn't it. My sister lives there and she is going into hospital in 3 days time for a mastectomy. Not a good time to be needing surgery and I can't even go over there to be with her.
Yes. It's been a bit of a year. I can't think of how many trips we have cancelled between March and now. And somehow I can't even contemplate booking anything else yet either. You get used to living in a bubble at home, never venturing very far. As you say, how much things have changed in a year - who could ever have imagined this?! And in the UK, we have Brexit to worry about too ... I just can't get to my happy place this festive season.
