Another action-packed day at the PSNZ conference here in Rotorua began before dawn, photographing sunrise through the steam rising from the lakeshore. The day continued with an inspiring presentation from street photographer Jesse Marlow, followed by a workshop with Matt Shannon on using Photopills to plan future landscape shoots, definitely a lot to absorb! We also enjoyed a fascinating Antarctica presentation, which was especially meaningful as it covered the very expedition I had travelled on myself.
The evening finished with a visit to Te Puia, the geothermal and Māori cultural centre transformed after dark with dramatic laser lighting cutting through the steam and rain. The weather may have been wet, but the rain only added atmosphere and reflections, turning the night into a playground for creativity.
