Caught mid-performance, this cheeky fantail seemed to put on a show amongst the rich colours of autumn. Its fanned tail, spread like a delicate hand fan, adds a wonderful sense of movement and personality against the soft golden backdrop of fallen leaves. The warm seasonal tones complemented the fantail's subtle plumage, while the pose gives the impression he was taking a bow after an energetic routine through the trees.
@shutterbug49 My ambition is to catch one with it's tail in full fan. But they are so quick, its nearly impossible. I have managed one from the back, but you don't really want to see it's bum!
