bringing in the catch

Any suggestions how I should crop this. I didn't want to lose the boat coming in at speed, and if I cropped the bottom, l lost the reflection there.
The pink tones suit the composition beautifully and you have caught so many good features! faaav (thats a double fav)

For me the interesting part of the photo are the boat, the birds and the pink sea. Therefore, personally I'd crop off most of the dark bit at the bottom - I can't see reflections or hardly any detail on my screen. (If you're not sure hold your hand up in front of it as though it was being cropped.) I'd just leave a fairly thin bit of dark rocks at the bottom. But, remember I'm no expert so I'm probably not saying what's technically correct, it's just what I'd do.

@nickspicsnz tnx Nick. I has a go at cropping both bottom, then the top, but decided to just leave it alone

I really like this btw. The pink is so pretty and the birds and boat are great.

A beautiful shot! I think it works well as is. Any crop would take away a good element.

It looks good as it is, I can also see two more images.
One is cropping just below the sandbar with the birds on & above the bird flying in. Makes the sandbar with the birds the foreground interest.
And the other is cropping out the rocks in the foreground with just a tiny bit of rock on the right showing. It then makes the kingfisher & the shag the foreground interest.
Thanks for asking the question Carole, it makes one look more closely at images and helps the learning process.
