I live in a small rural, residential community. There has been quite a stoush on facebook today about fireworks. There are a lot of life style blocks on the outskirts, including me, who worry about our "farm" animals. The "townies" are labelling these people as fun police etc. These were taken from my deck, but a composite of flashes over a space of an hour. All in all a bit of a fizzler really. I could hear the turkeys in the paddock gobbling every time there was a bang, and my alpaca's had a spitting session, but we all survived. I just can't get my head around that tradies can't go about their business, just incase they have an accident and take up a hospital bed, but the selling of fireworks is classed as an essential service. Go figure.
I’m with you Carol. I live in the city and was surprised to see fireworks on sale. I think we’ve moved beyond essential services tho as they’re in L4
But still I wait for the day when fireworks are no longer sold to the public.
