Okra by zambianlass

Okra

Okra, also known as "lady finger" or "gumbo," is a highly nutritious green edible pod vegetable. I found this growing in a corner of the veggie garden. I was facing the sun and liked how it gave the Okra a golden halo.
Such interesting shapes! So nice to see it as a plant and not in the grocery store! Very pretty light and focus.

There must be something on the edges of the plant that brings out that lovely golden look! Well shot!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. All so individual and different. I love reading all you have to say. Sorry for the group reply but work is keeping me snowed under. Am paying for the three week honeymoon I took. Sigh.

@roddy thanks Suze - I am not sure a fan but think the plant so pretty. How do you cook it/eat it?

A big Southern United Sstates vegetable. personally, I can't stand it other than fried, but it is great in soups and stews. Brought to the USA I believe by the slave trade.

ADmire that backlight on it; thus blurring the other items in the background. Yez, we Asian love okra (they said it cleans the fatty stuff in our systems thus lowers the bad cholesterol).
