The news is pretty depressing, truth be told, I stopped watching it about 8 months ago.
I think I thought with the new year everything would be magically made better.
With this new South African strain of Covid it seems no one wants us - flights from Zambia are quickly being banned... There just doesn't seem to be an end.
Anyway, whenever it all gets too much, I find solace in the natural world around me. It is so good for the soul. It quietly restores me. It helps you see the magic again.
I know that feeling, its super hard with everything going on and not a great routine for the kids such as school. Nice you have some beautiful nature around you to recharge. Great shot!
I was immediately attracted to the blue in the photo. Very nice color and composition. We are observing self imposed restrictions upon ourselves due to the covid and our age and are getting quite tired of it. We have also stopped watching the news because it is all so depressing. We will get through this however. Hang in there. A tall glass of your favorite red wine is also helpful ;-)
A gorgeous capture, a must fav for me. It is one of the most calming photos I have seen in a while - much needed. As Joan said in her comment above, the US seems to have no end to horrific happenings. And living in TN, we are the #1 highest state with covid (thanks to an idiot governor) and I live just south of Nashville, where my former office, restaurants, shops and condos were destroyed by a bomber. But I hold onto hope, with a new administration (thanks be to God) and a vaccine, life will get better for us all ♥
A beautiful blue....it’s calming in times of trouble. So hard for parents having kids home, they just want to be with their friends & homeschooling would do my head in!
Really beautiful and calming... Here cases of covid are also increasing at an alarming rate, and we are getting more and more restrictions. But closing schools is the worst, in my opinion. I'm a teacher in a secondary school and, difficult as it is to work in this situation, I think it's much better for the pupils to keep this little bit of routine - even if we have to wear masks, keep distance and have all windows and doors open in freezing temperatures.
Beautiful in many ways. I honestly don't know how we would have got through lockdown if my boys had been school age. It would have been constant battles between them and us.

My place to go is one of our local beaches at sunset. I can always breathe easier at the beach. Hope things improve soon in your part of the world.
