Squirrel munching on a Lantern tree flower.......

A lot of the flowers on my Lantern tree are beginning to fade - but was quite surprised to see this squirrel reach out grab a flower and begin munching away. All the years I have had the tree I have never seen them eat the flowers before. Taken from my bedroom window,

Well dogs eat grass when they don’t feel well. Maybe that’s what is going on here with the squirrel. Wonderful capture.

Interesting... I was doing some ICM images through my office window and noticed a squirrel eating my Japanese Red Maple leaves... it surprised me too.
