Along with the P&S theme, I seem to have fallen into a rose theme as well...in its many variations... I've quite enjoyed the ease of taking along a small camera these last few days, and I haven't felt I missed something I thought I might have done better with the DSLR.
We went to the largest nearby town (Bridgewater) this afternoon, visited a museum and did some shopping. Coming home I took pictures of several old homes with interesting architecture. I remembered this one, back in Lunenburg, and decided to use it tonight as it's one I walked through back when we were house-hunting. I loved the exterior and lawn, but inside, at the time, it was covered in orange shag carpeting, and I remember the wiring in the basement was a disaster! It seems someone came in and did a major renovation; I found some interior photos http://www.bbcanada.com/6585.html
The exterior is still its best feature I think; you can see why I was drawn to it!
I think they should buy the rights of this photo from you Louise! Perfect shot of a beautiful B&B. I can't believe they got rid of the shag carpet! What were they thinking! :)
I agree with those that said this should be the cover of their brochure and you should sell them the rights! I just betchya ( that's Texan) that they couldn't do any better! This is gorgeous! I want to go there and eat those apple cakes mentioned...Get to baking Louise...thankyouverymuch! XD
Small cameras have much in their favour! I know - it's all I have at present and I really do enjoy having a camera everywhere.
We're having very wet and windy weather at present and this is the beginning of the Rose Trials Week in Belfast - what are the chances of the roses surviving for decent pictures?
Very romantic picture, just love it. And yes it is as you wrote in your comment on my picture everybody was complaining about the cold days in june and now we don't know how to enjoy the heat. For me a temperature around 23°C would be perfect.
and might i add that i just looked through a bunch of your new photos (i've been MIA for awhile, so busy!) and you get better by the day! your photos are incredible and i'm just so happy for you!
i have been missing your pictures, louise! this one is so captivating, i am easily drawn by pictures of pink roses. hope you are enjoying the rest of your summer vacation, i guess you are, i have looked at all your other wonderful pictures and can't help but feel happy for you.
Good Morning Louise
Oh no I hope the picture is not lost in border crossing : )
If it is I have another all ready to go
I was just thinking about the wherabouts of the flower
let me know if it never shows I can try again !
I said this on your previous photo as well, but I love roses! :D
This entire scene just looks gorgeous. It looks like a place I would like to visit! (:
I love the green in it. I don't know, I guess it's just really brilliant! :)
hello! thanks for the comment! yes i did it as part of my 'A-levels', last year, the belt was pretty much all hand embroidery and beading, it certainly did take alot of my time up, but so worth it!! i am very proud of it! i just love to sew!
You REALLY lift me up, my friend...and I am going to reply later tonight, when I have more time to concentrate and respond in kind!
Funny thing...my brother was down for the football game last night ( but stayed at my other brother's place ), so he finally received the painting, and I was JUST talking to him on the phone about it, when I shot MY picture for today. He and his partner Wendy love it! YAY!!!
I did consult with them a little on it. They'd looked through my portfolio, suggested a style, chose the colours they wanted, and I went from there.
Anyway...love this little B&B, and all of the rest of your Luney photos! :-)
Yes, Louise...you guessed it...my curve ball involved my friend being admitted to hospital for emergency surgery last TH so I have not been home much since then.....thus I spent some time in the chapel this past weekend!
Louise, you were right, not only the kids, actually all the parents there were more excited than the kids, we all went out to the patio and everybody took out their cameras and iphones, it was hilarious! i should have taken a picture of all the parents too! the little kids inside of everybody definitely came out! :))
Re: comment--Thanks, Louise. I really do feel like the jellyfish did all the work. I was just in the right spot at the right time. But thank you! I am having fun taking pictures.
Oh Louise. This spot is so, sooooo beautiful. I would want to linger here for hours, enjoying the architecture and the wonderful roses. If you had to get stuck on a subject, I can't think of a much better one than roses. They soothe the soul.
Gorgeous place! You captured the beauty of it perfectly! You have done better than I did on the point and shoot! Most of the time I don't care but there are a few things I like to shoot with my dslr.
Louise, I posted the agent's listing on one of my historic home pics for you. :) Looks like my guess of the price was pretty close. Mid-way between 1-2 million.
