A run of kitty photos on my calendar wouldn't be complete without turning my thoughts back to my captivating friend and his summer friendship. His owner, David, wrote today specifically to update us with some pictures, and photos of Dill's winter residence. Http://www.catsinn.ca/page2.htm In the note he said, "Thought maybe it could somehow be a message from Dill to his many fans to let them know that he’s OK and contented. And not fending for himself in the wilds as one person thought!!" "Dill’s room is the last picture, bottom row on right. He has a window, blue litter box and plant outside the door."
David & Billy will be our traveling companions and tour guides this winter, and Dill spends this time every year with "Auntie Lisa" at The Cat's Inn. I've been told he's quite accustomed to the accommodations and will be well cared for. On the other hand, it will feel quite strange to have a home with no kitty to curl up with us over the course of a winter's evening...
Updates:
"Mango" has returned as was expected. It would seem we've now bought ourselves another cat. While not fond of his name, he was called that all summer, so I'll have to start getting used to it...
Tomorrow we're transferring my information from this computer to our little netbook for traveling. It's going to be a whole new learning curve to type on that tiny thing and to have to share computer time! With all the final stages to wrap up, I'll be preoccupied with last minute activities and "I shouldn't be spending time on 365" (I'm actually writing that as a note to myself!). You know I'll drop by to peek a bit, but I may be off the grid for the most part until we get settled in Chicago. Be back soon!
Really, it is not possible for that cat to get any cuter! I find myself trying to scratch his scruffy neck through the computer screen.
Have a fantastic trip! I look forward to pictures and your wonderful stories and comments! (When you get back!) Vacation, fun and adventure first... we're not going anywhere! =)
Thank you Louise, you know that I'm one of the many concerned by Dill, don't know why but I fall in love with him, he looks like the nicest and most friendly cat. And this picture is gorgeous.
@LindaC@lettersforkaren@gavincci@bradsworld I found this picture amongst a file I'd never opened late this summer. Mrs Smith had written that she missed Dill (as have I) so I thought I'd parade him out one last time this year. Thanks all!
oh my you can just hear Dill purring in this photo! I am not going anywhere so I will see you when you have a spare moment. Still on the edge of my seating waiting to hear about the grandbaby. Can't wait to see that picture!!!
Well Dill will be landing some lush accomodations. Good for him. And I knew Mango would return... the life at your place is too good to give up. Good luck packing.
Yay! So good to see Dill again! That's quite the place he'll be staying, but I knew David and Billy would make sure he was well looked-after in their absence.
I wanted to thank you for your kind words on my selfie. I wasn't sure if you'd have a chance to read through your notifications, and I wanted to make sure you saw this so I figured I'd post here. I really appreciate you taking the time, especially when you're so busy with preparations, to help cheer me up. You, and many others here, are truly wonderful and I feel blessed to have "met" you.
Well based on the referenced site, Dill is quite comfortable in his home away from home, LLooks like a wonderful place. Love this photo of him, as it would appear he is in deep thought of you all. Enjoy the day as I'm sure you are quite busy.
I just caught up on some of your latest postings...you are one busy lady! I love your cat postings. Your life is full! Have a safe and wonderful trip...again...and I look forward to more of your good news...
Wouldn't that be "cat-ivating" friend? Dill looks quite content and quite healthy. I have a solid black cat, and a black and white cat so if I ever get another I must get an all white one! LOL...........
Dill is giving you his best face. Btw. there are enough stray cats in Europe. So if you feel the need to have "a kitty to curl up with us over the course of a winter's evening..." I am sure you could find one... Have a lovely trip.
What a wonderful photo of darling Dill!
Thanks so much Louise! was wondering about Dill & how he was getting on. I didn't want to appear too obsessed :D.
What a lovely place for him to stay - very apt for one so loved :) nothing less !!
We all love him so much here on 365 .
Beautiful photo! I've been thinking about little Dill and wondering how he was doing. It looks like he's got some really nice new diggs for the winter. Hope you two have a safe trip and can't wait to see photos of the newest member of the family!
Such is the life! Being a much loved cat has its own rewards! Am anxious for the baby news...I can remember driving from Minnesota - where we were RVing to Missouri for the birth of Lyndee - and she waited until we got there! Ten minutes after we arrived, Lyndee debuted! We were the ones who were still huffing and puffing!
We have a netbook (technically it's my husbands but he's nice enough to let me borrow it) and I really like it. It's wonderful to travel with and you do get used to the keyboard size. Much lighter than a full sized laptop and very comfortable to use on your lap.
And on that note - I love the adorable close up here. Just begs to be cuddled!
@parisouaillers Thanks for the note about our Dill! It's so sweet to see how many people respond to him...his family knows, even if he doesn't know he's a rock star!
hi dear louise! thanks for your message. i have been going through some rough times and just a bit uninspired, otherwise all is well with me. the biggest part of whatever extra time i have is spent building my photoblog which i will share here in 365 as soon as it's ready. my best regards!
Hi Louise, Dill will be living down the road from my husbands workplace... I wonder if Dill is allowed guests? I'd love to drop in to say hi if time permits. Not sure if that would be alright...just let me know.
lovely white and pink picture of Dill!!! he looks so so sweet!
Maybe you should rename Mango and call him Tango instead,he won´t hear the difference probably...
@fotofem I *like* it! I can use that and no one will be the wiser! Thank you! @tamara The proximity is amazing! What fun it would be for you to visit & send pictures! I sent your request to the guys! So thoughtful of you!
@bpizzo Dill, here, is my neighbors cat where we live in the summer...he was at my house daily & I took a lot of pictures of him! Back in CA, we have 5 cats, all of whom have adopted us, the latest while we were away this summer. Having just paid to have him fixed, I think he's now ours now to stay... One more mouth to feed & be cared for in our absence... *sigh*
@snowy@hockechick@gill@bbm I've loved sharing Dill with this community one last time this year! Thanks for coming by and taking the time to notice him! @daliadestructo@rubberbiscuit Thanks for the high praise! He's such a pleasure to photograph! @sytse@gayleaustin Your comments were both priceless and made me smile! Thanks for taking the time to come by!
I'm dropping in - hopefully you'll get this before you pack up your netbook! You are too funny -black and white, indeed! I was thrilled to see Dill's mug greeting me and now I'll back up to catch up with your "doings." I've been busy and uninspired, but now I'm caught up and ready to visit my 365 friends! Safe travels! (When is that grandbaby due?)
@lauren211 I don't know where you find the time to do as much as you do each day!! I know we both know we're out here...I enjoy your pictures so much, but run out of time, too, to visit everyday. I know you're making the most of your senior year...thanks for taking the time to bring us your wonderful photos!
@ZG There's a lot of "slump" to go around it would seem! Glad to see you back in the neighborhood! Thanks for the well wishes...tomorrow night, Chicago! Looks like we'll be there in time for the due date...which is forcast for the 18th! Can't wait to meet our newest family member!
oh my goodness, i LOVE this shot of dill! i'm sure you miss him. and i just knew 'mango' would come back! and about that name--when has a cat ever come when called by his name?!! i say change it if you don't like it. for now we could call him 'the cat formerly known as mango'...ha!! (:

hooray for more traveling ! :D lucky duck!
this is a beautiful photo of Dill! Mango is a slightly unfortunate name for the little guy (well, big guy. BIG PANTHER GUY.) but i think it will match him soon enough. another cat is always exciting!)
@ellen ...boohoo...no hearts on this computer...but the thought counts 100%! Dill and I thank you! @wheezeburger Dill and I thank you! Cat's seem to see me as an easy mark, so yes, the family continues to grow! (New name suggestions welcome!)
Ohhh so cute! I love Dill! He has got to be the cutest kitty! I'm very happy he is gonna be set up somewhere nice. I looked at the photos of the place and looks like he's going to be pampered.
Had to make this a fav! I love Dill! Glad to hear he'll be confortable and cosy in his new temporary residence! To funny you called new kitty "Mango" - in Bulgarian that's a slang term for a gypsy ;-)
Lovely shot of Dill. What a thoughtful piece of mail to receive. Glad to hear of Dills comfortable new surroundings. Have a wonderful time on your holidays. :)
Have a fantastic trip! I look forward to pictures and your wonderful stories and comments! (When you get back!) Vacation, fun and adventure first... we're not going anywhere! =)

Hi Dill! I love you!

that kind of thing takes skill.
ooh, and Mango, interesting name :p
Happy travels!
This makes me want to take him out of this picture for a cuddle session.
