Snapped this iris at the Newbury Park war memorial gardens whilst on the way home from work.
Quite pleased with the detail as it was a little windy and as these flowers are so delicate, they don't stay still for long. That said, I'm fairly pleased with the way this one came out....
Good day in the office, lots done and spoke with my girlfriend in the evening. She's enjoying Sweden - very clean apparently. Although she is a bit embarrassed about the behaviour of some of her colleagues - as soon as they dumped their bags, they were off to the pub to consume as much booze as possible in 3 hours... lol
You were right, Andy, that you got a wonderful photo of the iris! It's a flower with a special meaning to me, so I like to save the prettiest ones I find here. I can see this fragile beautiy might have made you work for your picture, but it came out exceptionally well!
Thanks guys, am quite pleased with this one... and glad you approve Louise :-). Cherril, ha ha.. the old feninine side keeps sneaking out what with all these flower pics just lately... will try to keep it in check :-)
Great shot Andy. I think you nailed it! I can't tell you how many times I've been trying to shoot flowers and the wind starts ripping through so I know this wasn't an easy capture. If flowers photos are a sign of my lack of masculinity I'm in trouble! :).
