Sparrow Grass by andycoleborn

Sparrow Grass

They say British asparagus is the best in the world! Well, it sure is nice but I couldn't swear on it being the best... Griddled these spears and scoffed with plaice for dinner this evening.

Not sure where the sparrow grass comes from... think I saw a cook call them this on TV once?!?!?!

Bit tired today, hectic weekend with lots of driving left me wishing I'd booked the day off. As it was, I got up a bit late and wondered into the office gone 10.! No one noticed so I think I got away with it :-)
Oh yum--this is nicely photographed

Lovely shot Andy, I love asparagus, i've only had it in a few countries, but I can believe British is best! Sparrow grass is I think what it was called originally, the name morphed over the centuaries to asparagus.

Great shot! I am still on the fence as to whether or not I like asparagus, so I don't have it all that often. This makes me want to eat it again.....in Britain of course, if that's where the best ones are :)
