FoR-Architecture 6

All my architecture shots are going to be different views of the former Richmond Post Office - Richmond NSW. The impressive 1535sqm allotment was designed by architect James Barnet and built between 1875 and 1888.

Finishing my FoR
We were planning a trip to the Richmond area and then staying with friends at Penrith, but the virus has put paid to that for now.

@onewing so sad for all the fire areas who would be banking on tourists returning :(

Annie, what is that pipe between the two chimneys, do you know? Such unique architecture there.

@annied Judging by the state of those antennas, you've got some big heavy birds around there!
@louannwarren I would guess it's a ventilation pipe for the drainage system.

@vignouse I thought that, but it just seemed so tall.

@louannwarren In France the outlet has to be above the highest point of the roof so the wind can do its job no matter what direction it comes from... this is probably the same

@vignouse haha the antenna are probably like that for two reasons - it is mountainous around and bloody cockatoos...they're big birds and love antenna sitting.
I assumed the pipe was an outlet - thanks for confirming 😊
