For a week in a hospital bed with hardly any room for walking, maybe 6 steps to the washroom and back, my legs got lazy and now at home I've to start getting them in shape again. Hans and I went very slowly down to the lake yesterday afternoon and today a little further. it'll take time.

It is amazing how quickly the muscles deteriorate. Some years ago, I was quite fit, and had a small knee injury. It was immobilized for 3 weeks. Unfortunately nobody instructed me to work out the muscles. In 3 weeks, the leg was soooo thin compared to the one in use. I was astonished how quickly the body deteriorates.
It's amazing how much it lifts your spirits in hospital (or anywhere I suppose) just having a simple little bit of nature to gaze upon. Glad to hear you're healing.
