There a high-presure zone to the south of us, in the cold Southern Ocean - and a low-pressure area in formation somewhere to the north of us. The pressure gradient between the two systems is causing choppy turbulent seas and skies, along with an abundance of gusty wind.

Yes - it's no joke. The heat and humidity that these systems bring can be unbearable, even if they aren't a direct threat. Your season runs from about now until Oct/Nov?
Stay safe. Those clouds look ominous. I have a vacation house in Rockport, TX and six years ago it got hammered with a cat. 4 hurricane. 140 mph winds blew out the windows, took the roof off and was 3 feet deep in flood water. It is all put back together now.
These are dangerous and beautiful phenomena. You probably know how to protect yourself against them. Although nature often shows us who is boss! Lovely shot and layers.
