Here is my first photo for the 365. (First time doing the 365). I love the picture and the eerie feeling it has but I don't like the building. Should I remove or keep it? I could crop the photo but I love the snow at the bottom. Was thinking if I did crop I could move the snow up. Any suggestions would be welcome. 😀
If you have Photoshop it might take some time, but you could perhaps clone out the building (and maybe those power lines - that's my fuss - power lines!)
To add pictures, click on the ellipsis underneath your photo (next to number of comments / favs) and then copy the embed code from the box and paste it here.
You can photoshop the building out without cropping the snow, if you need, you can send your photo to support@customcanvasonline.com.au the team will help you edit it free of charge.
I'd probably crop the bottom just to 'tidy' the shot. I think the building adds to the photo. You are way ahead of where I was anyway when I started 365 as I did not think of doing the options you have in mind! Welcome!
You can try by Photoshop. I think you can take the building behind your photo. Just, do it .. First do a clipping path for your image then put it here. You can see some tutorial on clipping path.
If you decide to become an ace member you will get a link to picmonkey in your photo details list next to your photo. It's a simple editing tool (uses flash).
If I were to crop this at all I would just trim the bottom and the right hand side to lose the lights, which slightly draw the eye away from the tree and the snow on the trunk.
Here is a suggestion if you want to change it. I'm sure others will have better ideas than I have. A straighten using the tree as your vertical guide. Select the building and blur it to detract from the beautiful tree.
I agree re: the powerline and lights. I don't mind the building too much. Christine's edit is nice. I hate editing though, so I can't say about all the options available.
Thank you everyone for all the feedback. All the tips are wonderful. I do agree about the light and power lines. I am going to try a few alternatives and then repeat.
Maybe moving position. I have seen things just like this and photographed them cause I really liked them then though of if only... I still really like the image!!
