These ones were shot in Fort Erie, Ontario (near Niagara Falls, just across the river from Buffalo). It was a very cloudy day but with sunny breaks so there was a lot of waiting around and glancing up when the clouds broke. We experienced 3 minutes, 43 seconds of totality; almost all of that time it was covered by cloud but we did get to see it briefly at the beginning.
@emrob@olivetreeann My daughter up in New York State had total darkness but it was cloudy there so she couldn't see it either except for the darkness. She was happy to experience that.
@emrob these are awesome , Amanda @princessicajessica what a fun collage of the experience Jessica @shutterbug49 sometimes the photos of the crowds are beter thatn the eclips. This is a great collage Debbie @olivetreeann A+ for effort Ann
A half hour before the eclipse was to start it looked promising. The clouds were clearing away and I got some of the beginning then the clouds returned to keep us from viewing the total eclipse only to clear up as the eclipse was ending.

What was really cool was being able to actually see the flares coming off the sun during totality with my naked eye. They were pink!
Not wanting to be left out of this unique day, the clouds totally eclipsed the eclipse- so disappointing!!!
