Foolish Photographers

I was hoping for a good sunset and high tide to photograph at Thor's Well. The sunset was disappointing but the surf was good. But OH how freaky it is to see photographers out there waiting to be swept to sea... as many have been. This seems to have been a photography class group. I wouldn't hire that teacher.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
Oh dear, nobody should get in danger for a photo

Lovely capture of this beautiful but dangerous scene.

Reminds me of a gentleman I worked with, who definition of a deadicated photographer as someone that would stand on high ground near a site where an atomic bomb had been detonated, waiting for the "perfect" picture, knowing that he/she would soon be blown off their feet (for some distance).

Other then that, I think you have a very well done photo that really tells a story. Hope they all got good shots (photos or water)

It's a really compelling image. I agree - they're bonkers!

Outstanding pov, sense of scale and space. It does look a bit precarious.

You have got a great shot, but the photographers are not too bright are they.

We don't get many photographers on rocks here, but we do get a lot of rock fishermen none of which ever wear lifejackets. We have regular drownings here from fishermen swept out to sea.

I suppose that the people in this picture would never venture out there if they were on their own, but logic goes out the window sometimes when they are in a group doesn't it.

That does look a little scary, but your photo is marvelous.

@byrdlip no one got washed into the water thankfully. Several years ago I took a picture of lava flow into the ocean in Hawaii at night from a safe place. In the shot, when I got it to my computer, was a man high on a ledge right above it photographing. The ledge was swept into the ocean a week later!

Maybe not local and not often see seas.

Great seascape composition! Sometimes a photographer chooses to get in risky situations for a great image.

yikes but I bet they get the shots

Great shot. Most of us, when we have a camera in our hands, think more about the frame than about our own safety.

Spectacular scene, great shot.

Many people have no respect for the power and unpredictability of the ocean, but they gave you a great shot (taken from a much safer position).

Great capture, but yeah, that's a little close

Well your capture tells a better story than theirs will be when they are covered in sea salt . . .
