Thought I could save it

Its apple time here and some of my Gravenstein Apples are ready. This one had a split in it so I thought that maybe I could just cut around it and cook it up for 'apple pie-less', which is just apple pie filing without the crust. After slicing it in two, I found that nope, no saving, just composting.
