I planted a couple of Chilli plants in the veg garden, and I thought I had lost the label and was unsure what type it was. Well today I discovered these 4 ready on the plant, and a lot more to come, a little more poking around and I discovered the name... Ghost Chilli #3 on the hot chilli scale with a reading of 1, 041,427 on the scoville scale.. I don't mind a little heat but this could be just too hot.. A FB friend suggested to put it in a bottle of gin.. Can I be brave enough to do that.
Well, I saved some similar chilli plants in a jar - used them recently - only 1 and we just about died! They would be over a year old. So keep them - give yourself and some other important person an experience!
Lovely image, but oh, my word, those look and sound wildly hot! I grow chillis every year, different varieties just for the change. I once had some of these. I made a hot and spicy soup for 16 people to take as the starter on a walking meet in a bothy. Well. Was it hot or what?! Some people were coughing and spluttering, others were loving it and taking leftovers home with them! It was a memorable soup, that's for sure! But too spicy for me - I felt quite bad about it as I fear more people struggled to eat it than enjoyed it! I'll be a lot more careful in future! And I thought I'd put in very little of the wicked little chillis!
