Number Sixteen by laurentye

Number Sixteen

A few years ago I made a list of thirty things I wanted to complete by the time I turn 30. In a few weeks I'll be 28 and I realized that I have only completed six things on my list!

When I look at my list, some of the things make me think "why on earth did I want to do that??"

#16 Learn about Canadian history
(right now I'm reading about Samuel de Champlain and Quebec)

...I'm starting to remember why I did so poorly in Social Studies. History is not my thing...
I like the composition on this. I'd love to know what some of the other things are on your list.

@webfoot thank you Paul! maybe some of my other list items will be incorporated into pictures too...we'll see :)

your photo made me smile with understanding... and caused a bit of panic too!! I made such a list too... though I had this idea on my 29th birthday... and 365 is one of the things on my list... I quickly discovered that i was way to optimistic with my challenge and there is no way i'll be able to complete it but I don't mind if it wasn't for the list I would have never joined 365 :) Good luck with completing your list!!

Lovely composition. I had a list for when I hit 40 and never completed most of it. I've done things that I've thoroughly enjoyed that weren't on my list though. :)

I really like your photo and I really want one of those mugs! I love the bumps on it. As for history, I have found that reading historical fiction kind of works for me - it's fun, it's not dry, and you can learn stuff. Maybe that'd be an avenue to check out for you! Good luck with all of it!

@kammy I'm starting to wonder if i will complete all my things too! lol maybe I was also a bit too optimistic. but i figure as long as I try then I will at least accomplish more than i would have without my list of goals! good luck with your list too! 365 will be a great accomplishment!

You can do it :)
I love History, but not too sure how much I love Canada ;)
I love that you have a list like this---you've inspired me to make one.

Nice composition, good DoF and focus. If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would get done. See if you can tie some of the items on your list with your 365 project.

@karens68 thanks Karen! i think the most important thing is that you've done things you've thoroughly enjoyed even if they weren't on a list!

Great shot. I wonder what happened to my list. Lost in the mists of time now sadly! Well done.
May 18th, 2011
I think this shot is great!! Nicely done! :)

Every time you take a shot with a mug in it I always think AAU.... This is perfect to me the composition, DOF, exposure etc it's all there. You should make a montage of your mug shots or blow them up big for your wall.

So fun Lauren! I love that u made a list! I also love the texture of your cup and your lightening. I'm with you 100% with history. If anything makes me tired....it's history. ( or sad!) that's why I stay away from it. I think u need to share more items on your list. :)

I own a Canadian History For Dummies by Will Ferguson. I like his humour writing, but have I read his history book? Parts of it.

When I went through my divorce, I made up my bucket list, the things i wanted to do before I die. I have managed to tick of many, which feels wonderful to be honest. Its good to revisit your list and make the changes that change with how you grow in life. Good luck x
