A bad snowstorm hit the northeast today. What normally takes me about 20 minutes took slightly over an hour, but at least I got home before the roads were really bad. Since I was driving slower than 1mph it was easy to snap this fellow as he crossed the street before I made it home. I discovered there were several deer bedded down right there but by this time I was not interested in anything other than walking through the front door and sitting by the wood stove!
how lucky to have that deer to the scenery. i didn't venture out today, not with the wind, sleet and rain. you on the other hand was a brave soul. aces!
Love a burning wood fire and a glass of glühwein (warmed wine) to stay warm with.

@summerfield Not so much brave as I did not leave work early enough and had to deal with the snow and road conditions. There was only one spot where I almost didn't make it- just at the top of the hill before the spot where this guy was. I just kept my foot on the gas and prayed my Toyota would keep going! lol I learned my lesson though- from now on if one snowflake falls while I'm at work, I'm packing up all my projects and heading home! Thanks Vikki!

@grammyn Suffered at my own choice. I should have left work much earlier but I kept thinking, "I'll just get this done first..." Next time, I'll pack it all up and get home first! Thanks for the fav Katy!
Thank you Harry, Marilyn, Nina, Gloria, Laura and Vesna- yes cold but at least the car heats up nicely and keeps you warm. However the warmth in a safe home is far better!

Thank you to one and all for the views, comments and favs! Today, I was able to enjoy it from the inside. We didn't even shovel, since we were both staying home. So it was a truly relaxing day after the stress of driving home in that storm. Live and learn! Next time, I'll pack up my projects and head out much sooner!
