This is a follow on from last week’s picture of the stairs at Bude sea pool.
As I reached the bottom of the stairs I was just in time to snap these women going in for a swim.
I was in my puffa coat and woolly hat and the temperature was 7 degrees with a wind chill factor making it feel like 2 degrees. Kitty Hawke @cutekitty was not kidding about hardy Cornish folk!
And I don't jump n before the sea temperature is around 20c. Northerners are very hardy where the weather is concerned. The last one does look like she is on an important mission.
Oh my............I have several friends who seaswim nearly all year. They are in a swimmiing club locally........known as (wait for it)......the Bllue Tits........
Wow, that is brave of them swimming in temps like that! I guess those swim suits do help with some kind of thermal control? They sure don't look like something one would be wearing to the beach on a summers day - they look like they mean business
A super shot of these brave (or is it foolish?) winter swimmers - fav! Not my idea of fun going in the water in winter, but it seems to have become quite a thing in recent years.
Cool capture of these 'hardy' ladies! My friend is a sea swimmer, she belongs to a group called 'blue tits' she scrapes the ice from her car some mornings to go swimming!
Maybe don’t go in the water!! 😂😂😂
